Araghchi: Agreement with Washington is “closer than ever”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on Friday that the Islamabad memorandum of understanding is “closer than ever” to implementation, stressing that its details will be shared with the public in due course.
Araqchi stated in a post on the “X” platform, which was followed by Shafaq News Agency: “The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is closer than ever to being implemented. Until it is finalized, the media should refrain from speculating about its content.”
He added: “In line with our responsible and transparent approach, all details will be shared with the public in due course.”
Iranian media outlets refuted on Friday the announcement by US President Donald Trump that the agreement between Washington and Tehran had been finalized and would be signed next Sunday.
This comes after the American agency Bloomberg revealed on Friday that Washington and Tehran will sign a memorandum of understanding in Geneva next Sunday, noting that the signing will be limited to a preliminary memorandum of understanding and not a final agreement.
Earlier today, US President Donald Trump denied the validity of what he described as “the conditions leaked by Iran” to the media regarding the ongoing negotiations between the two sides, stressing that they have no relation to what was agreed upon in writing.
