The Integrity Commission opened an investigation, with the leader of the Taqadum Party, Chairman of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, Haibat Al-Halbousi, due to corruption and extreme wealth in a short period.
A source close to the party told Al-Ma’louma Agency, “The authority noticed Al-Halbousi’s extreme wealth in a short period of time, including his possession of seven properties in various upscale areas of the capital, Baghdad.”
He explained, “There are other properties owned by Al-Halbousi, including in Erbil, Turkey, and Jordan.”
The source pointed out his involvement in seizing huge sums of money from a mechanism used to equip fake factories in the Karma district, east of Fallujah.
