Anbar denies US forces withdrawing from Ain al-Assad base

Shafaq News/ On Thursday, the head of the security committee in Anbar province, Saad al-Muhammadi, denied reports that US forces had withdrawn from Ain al-Assad airbase in western Iraq.
Al-Muhammadi told Shafaq News Agency, “What has been circulated by some media outlets and social media sites regarding the withdrawal of US forces from Ain al-Assad base is false,” stressing that “the situation at the base is stable, and there are no movements indicating an intention to withdraw or redeploy.”
He added that “security agencies are constantly monitoring the situation inside the base, and that any developments are taking place in accordance with official coordination,” calling for “not being drawn into rumors aimed at stirring up confusion.”
