Iranian lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian revealed the contents of a message he claims US President Donald Trump sent to Tehran before the start of nuclear negotiations in Muscat, Oman. In a televised interview carried by Iranian media on Sunday, Nabavian stated that Trump proposed a limited attack against Iran, to which Iran could then retaliate. According to Nabavian, “Trump sent a message before the negotiations saying, ‘Let me strike two sites inside Iran, and you can respond.'”
Nabavian continued: “We told (the Americans): ‘If you make a mistake, we will kill three or four thousand of you.’ He added: “We instructed our Foreign Minister (Abbas Araqchi) to inform his colleagues in the region that we will strike every American base.”
It is worth noting that Araqchi confirmed in a press statement yesterday, Saturday, that Iran will strike American bases in the Middle East if it is attacked by the American forces that have been mobilized in the region, stressing, however, that this does not constitute an attack on the countries that host these bases.
In contrast, the two US special envoys, Steve Wittkopf and Jared Kushner, sent a “message of strength to Iran” following the Muscat negotiations, through their visit to the aircraft carrier “USS Abraham Lincoln” stationed in the Gulf, which is considered a potential spearhead for any US military action against Iran.
