An American delegation conveys a greeting message from Biden and Blinken to SudaneseShafaq News/ On Wednesday, an American diplomatic delegation conveyed a message of greeting from President Joe Biden and his Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, to Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, stressing Iraq’s exceptional role in maintaining peace and promoting human rights.

Al-Sudani’s office said in a statement, received by Shafaq News Agency, that the latter received, this morning, the US Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Ozra Zia.

The statement conveyed that Al-Sudani stressed, during the meeting, Iraq’s keenness to strengthen its democratic system, and its adherence to what has been achieved on this path, based on its constitution, which stipulates pluralism, human rights, transitional justice after regime change, and justice for the components that have been subjected to repression and terrorist attacks.

The Iraqi Prime Minister stressed that what is happening in Gaza is unprecedented and a blatant violation of human rights, and amounts to genocide, noting that most of the victims are women and children, according to reports from international organizations, stressing the need to make more efforts to stop this war that The Palestinian people are exposed to it.

For her part, Zia conveyed the greetings of President Biden and Secretary Blinken to Al-Sudani, according to what was stated in the statement, and pointed to Iraq’s exceptional role in the region. Being a country with a democratic system, it is making progress in the field of human rights and reducing the phenomenon of human trafficking, in addition to its role in maintaining peace in the region, praising what the government has accomplished in establishing a higher youth council and a women’s council.
