Today, Saturday, the economist, Nabil Al-Ali, identified eight economic reasons behind postponing sending the budget and voting on it in Parliament, while stressing that adjusting the salary scale for employees requires an increase in financial spending.
Al-Ali said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “the law to amend the salary scale requires some kind of financial burden and an increase in spending,” stressing that “its approval must be within the current year’s budget law.”
He added, “The budget is delayed week after week due to many procedures that it needs, or making the necessary amendments to it,” stressing that “among these reasons are those related to large projects, salaries of state employees, the exchange rate, and new financial budgets for several ministries, such as trade.” .
He referred to “development projects, special projects issued by the government, the sovereign fund, as well as Chinese loan projects,” pointing out that “all these reasons cause delays in sending the budget and voting on it inside the parliament dome.”
And a member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Saadoun Al-Sudani, had confirmed today, Saturday, that “sending the financial budget law to the House of Representatives could take place before the end of this month,” noting that “most of the controversial points in the Qom budget have been overcome.”
The political and popular forces are awaiting the date of the 2023 draft budget law arriving in parliament for a vote on it amid many disputes over the share of the Kurdistan region, and my people hope that it will include appointments and amend the salary scale of state employees.
