American soldiers injured in Iraqi operation against ISIS for the second time!

The US Department of Defense announced again that two of its soldiers were injured during a joint operation with Iraqi forces against ISIS elements and leaders, for the second time after seven soldiers were also injured in an operation in the Anbar desert last August.
Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder said in a statement that two U.S. service members in Iraq were injured in a joint U.S.-Iraqi airstrike overnight that killed “several ISIS members.” He added that “both are in stable condition and are receiving treatment for their injuries.” Ryder did not say how they were injured or where they were receiving treatment.
The Iraqi Joint Operations Command announced the killing of nine ISIS members in the raid, including “the so-called governor of Iraq State, Jassim Al-Mazroui, Abu Abdul Qader, and other leaders from the front line.”
The injury of American soldiers during joint raids on ISIS is an exceptional incident that happened twice in the last two months. It is likely that the injury occurred due to a landing operation and direct engagement with terrorists after the area was bombed! The question here is, what is the reason for the injury of American soldiers and not the injury of Iraqi soldiers in the operation? Another question comes to mind for the observer: Why are American forces participating on the ground in the operations when they are supposed to be advisory forces or at least providing air strikes only?
