A security source revealed, on Wednesday, that US forces had deployed a new anti-missile and anti-aircraft system to protect the Ain al-Asad air base, west of Anbar.
The source said in a statement to Al-Ma’louma Agency, “The American forces stationed began deploying a battery of missile defense systems at Ain Al-Asad air base in the Al-Baghdadi district of Hit district, west of Anbar, against the backdrop of the failure of the current defense system and its inability to intercept the drone and missiles launched by the Islamic Resistance.” “which led to human and material losses among the American forces.”
He added, “The name of the new missile system is not known, but information indicates that it is one of the advanced defensive systems that works to target any foreign object above the Ain al-Asad air base,” explaining that “the deployment of an anti-missile and anti-aircraft system came against the backdrop of the failure of the current system.”
It is noteworthy that the American forces stationed at the Ain al-Asad base, west of Anbar, were subjected to attacks by drones and missiles from the Islamic Resistance Axis in a position to support the Palestinian resistance, and to renew their rejection of the presence of American combat forces inside Iraqi territory.
