Shafaq News/ American boxing legend George Foreman passed away at the age of 76.
George Foreman’s family announced in a statement on Instagram on Saturday that the legendary boxer had passed away at the age of 76.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear George Edward Foreman, Sr., who passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones,” the family said in a statement.
The statement added: “He was a humanitarian, an Olympian, and a two-time world champion, and he was highly respected. He was a force for good, a man of discipline and faith, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his name and his family.”
Foreman is one of the greatest athletes to have come back from retirement, reclaiming the heavyweight boxing title and becoming a prominent sales figure.
Foreman was a two-time world champion and won an Olympic gold medal in 1968 at the Mexico City Olympics.
