Allawi: The time is not suitable for the independence of Kurdistan

He saw Vice President Iyad Allawi, on Saturday that the time is not right to hold a referendum of self-determination in the independence of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Allawi said at a news conference today in Baghdad, he was “frankly not time now for the referendum, and we are proud of the Kurdistan Region as part of Iraq.”
He added that he should be “a serious dialogue with our brothers in Kurdistan on the referendum, and I will go there and met with the President of the Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani to discuss this matter.”
Allawi noted that “I hope that Iraq remain united,” Msttrda by saying that “the enactment of the oil and gas law will solve a lot of problems and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.”
The ruling National Alliance, the Shiite in Iraq has asked Allawi to open channels of dialogue and the truce between Erbil and Baghdad.
