Ali Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, confirmed, on Friday, that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani did not include in his program raising the exchange rate of the dollar in the local markets, pointing out that the US administration does not like the government’s moves towards Siemens and seeks to use the dollar as a pressure card against Iraq. .
Al-Zubaidi told Al-Maalouma, “The government bears part of the responsibility for the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar in the local markets, especially since there is a bigger war than the government over the dollar.”
He added, “Al-Sudani’s moves outside the American circle and going towards the German company Siemens to enter and develop electricity projects, as they anger Washington, which in turn is working to take measures against Iraq with the aim of filtering the dollar arriving at the Federal Bank as oil revenues.”
And he indicated that “the government has drawn up its plan for the coming period and has not included in its program any paragraph that stipulates raising the exchange rate of the dollar in the local markets, and therefore the increase that occurred is greater than the government’s.”
