On Wednesday, the representative of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Suzan Mansour, ruled out completing the presidential file and choosing the right person for the presidency in the upcoming parliament session, while it was suggested that the president’s selection would be delayed for several months due to differences between the political blocs.
Mansour said in an interview with the “Information” agency, “The door to dialogue is open between the Patriotic Union and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, but so far there are no new agreements between the two parties.”
And she added, “Al-Yakti adheres to his candidate, Barham Salih, for the presidency of the republic, and we will insist on passing him to the presidency in accordance with the presidential elections agreed upon by the Kurdish parties.”
And the representative of the Kurdistan National Party continued, “The issue of the file of the Presidency of the Republic is very complicated and it is difficult to pass it in the upcoming parliament session,” stressing that “the differences between the political blocs, especially the Kurdish parties, will exacerbate the process of passing a personality acceptable to all.”
Mansour indicated that “the approval of the president’s passage requires a long period of time and several months.” Done/25 SR
