Al-Toki explains the main challenges facing the Finance Committee regarding the budget

Independent MP Kazem Al-Touki explained the most prominent challenges facing the Finance Committee regarding the budget, pointing out that the Prime Minister expressed his willingness to come to Parliament in order to clarify the solutions regarding changing oil prices.
Al-Touki said to Al-Maalooma, “The Finance Committee has a group of proposals in front of it, as it works to study and discuss them in order to include them or not in the budget before going to the vote.”
He added, “The most important challenge facing the Finance Committee lies in changing global oil prices, especially since the budget was presented for three years,” pointing out that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani announced that he is ready to attend in order to clarify how to address the budget situation in the event of a change in oil prices.”
And that “the financial deficit in the budget amounted to 62 trillion dinars at a time when the Finance Committee is working to reduce the deficit by 25 trillion dinars, in addition to that it is currently working to increase the amount of development of the regions and make it up to 6 trillion dinars.”
