Political analyst Qasim Al-Tamimi said on Tuesday that some corrupt Iraqi politicians in America have been providing financial support to some American representatives to launch a project called “Liberating Iraq from Iran” with the aim of confusing the internal situation as the elections approach.
Al-Tamimi told Al-Maalomah, “The American side often seeks escalation by threatening to use military force, using economic warfare, and targeting the energy file against Iraq, especially with the approach of summer.”
He added, “An extremist American representative launched the project to liberate Iraq from Iran. This representative is known for receiving funds from parties hostile to Iraq, in addition to receiving sums from Iraqi figures who previously participated in the political process after 2003, stole the country’s money, and fled to America. These figures are now working to finance some American representatives to launch anti-Iraq projects.”
He explained that “the plan to liberate Iraq is intended to disrupt and confuse the internal situation, especially as the country is approaching an electoral process at the end of this year. Therefore, what is happening is an attempt to confuse the Iraqi citizen and delude the people that the American side is controlling Iraq.”
