Shafaq News/ Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Thursday that his government is determined to end the medical trips of citizens abroad by building and rehabilitating hospitals in Iraqi city centers.
This came in a speech he delivered during the launch (via video conference) of the executive work on projects for five hospitals in five governorates, out of a total of 16 hospitals with a capacity of 100 beds.
In his speech, Al-Sudani said, “The infrastructure aspect is a priority in the government’s program’s objectives because it is the most prominent point of contact between citizens and service agencies.”
He pointed out that major hospital projects and specialized medical centers are ongoing, saying: “With this, we have put Iraq on the right path in terms of service.”
He added, “We will end the situation of citizens who travel outside Iraq, spending money and effort to obtain medical services.”
