Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed today, Sunday, the government’s success in resolving the issue of ending the presence of international coalition forces in Iraq, in addition to the success in ending the United Nations Mission (UNAMI).

Al-Sudani said during a televised speech followed by Al-Maalouma Agency, “The number of stalled projects decreased from 2,611 suspended projects and contracts to resume work on 471 projects for ministries and 354 projects and contracts in the governorates,” noting that “400 projects and contracts were fully completed after some of them had been suspended for more than ten years.”

He continued: “We have ended forever the confusion resulting from the multiplicity of personal documents for citizens, and more than 40 million unified personal cards have been issued,” noting that “we have launched the work of electronic passport systems and reduced all the reviews that exhausted citizens.”

He added: “Gasoline production increased to 28 million liters per day, and imports declined to their lowest levels and will stop at the beginning of 2025,” indicating that “the oil sector witnessed remarkable development and we began exploiting associated gas and reached 67 percent of it.”
