Today, Saturday, a member of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Saadoun Al-Sudani, revealed the latest developments in the investigation into the case of theft of tax money, as it is known as the “theft of the century,” while he confirmed that Al-Kazemi and his group stole unreasonably.
Al-Sudani said in an interview with the information agency, “The investigation into the case of the theft of the century is continuing, and the authorities responsible for the case are trying not to reveal much information in order to continue the investigation without being subjected to pressure.”
He added, “There is very important information and large figures involved in the theft, so that they can escape from the hands of justice,” likely that “this information indicates the involvement of large corruption whales, and an attempt to overthrow them before their escape.”
A member of Parliament explained, “The caretaker prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and his group stole unreasonably and did not care about legal punishment or any oversight body, and this is what necessitates the current government to hold that gang involved in the thefts accountable.”
Earlier, independent MP Mustafa Sanad confirmed, in a televised interview followed by Al-Maalouma, that “the theft of the century began in 2020 and was signed by the former Minister of Finance, Ali Allawi, after he stood over the head of the minister, one of the big brokers, and informed him of the necessity of signing and not discussing, and this is what actually happened.” .
