Al-Sudani: Iraq was able to confront the challenges that occurred in the region

Shafaq News/ Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Wednesday that Iraq was able to overcome the recent challenges witnessed by the region, which almost swept the entire world.
This came in a speech he delivered during his congratulations on the occasion of Christmas, in a joint call, via closed-circuit television, with a number of Christian clerics in various churches in the governorates of Iraq.
Al-Sudani added in his speech, “We were able – due to the solidarity and unity of the national position – to confront the challenges that occurred in the region, the effects of which almost extended to all countries of the region and the world,” adding, “We confronted those challenges with a unified, responsible national discourse.”
He added, “We have contributed to keeping our country away from the arena of wars and conflicts.”
