Today, Wednesday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, chaired a meeting to follow up the transportation projects in the general budget.
A statement from Al-Sudani’s office received by Al-Sumaria News stated that the latter “presided today, a meeting devoted to following up the transport projects in the federal budget for the year 2023, attended by ministers of planning, transport and finance, and a number of consultants, agents and general managers in the concerned departments and authorities.
The meeting discussed “the ministry’s projects within the government program plan for the specified periods, and in light of the three-year budget, in proportion to presenting government priorities, the share of listing, financing, implementation, and distributing these projects among the governorates.”
The Prime Minister stressed, “the importance of addressing the problems of implementation and financing for these projects, and developing proactive solutions for them, and alternatives to any obstacle that may face the work, whether it is administrative and legal obstacles or obstacles related to financing.”
The meeting reviewed the progress of work in the Al-Faw Grand Port projects, and the stages of linear completion Basra-Shalamja, and Sawa-Hijama, for the railways, as Al-Sudani stressed the importance of developing the railway transport sector, with what it represents of the backbone for the development of infrastructure and an added service that facilitates the movement of citizens
