MP Mohammed al-Shammari revealed on Thursday the real reasons behind the delay in filling the remaining vacant ministerial posts and completing the cabinet, stressing that the core of the obstruction revolves around the continued political disagreements and objections to some of the candidates nominated for those ministries.
Al-Shammari told the Information Agency, “The political scene is still witnessing a divergence of views among parliamentary blocs regarding some of the proposed figures, especially concerning the extent to which the names put forward to manage the remaining ministries meet professional and consensus criteria.” He explained that “insisting on candidates who face reservations from other parties is what is preventing their presentation to Parliament to obtain a vote of confidence.”
He added that “prolonging this issue does not serve the interests of institutional work and the stability of executive performance, and requires political forces to make mutual concessions and replace the controversial names with figures who possess competence, integrity, and public acceptance.” He pointed out that “filling the ministerial vacancies is an urgent necessity to end the current situation of acting appointments and to advance the government’s service program.”
