Security expert Qatari Al-Samarmad said on Monday that the US forces have completed advanced stages of the process of establishing a special airport for giant B-52 bombers capable of carrying nuclear warheads at the Ain Al-Assad base, west of Anbar.
Al-Samarmad said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The American forces have completed advanced stages in establishing an airport for giant B-52 aircraft inside the Ain al-Assad base building in the Al-Baghdadi area in the Hit district, west of Anbar, in a step that is the first of its kind, despite its promotion of a withdrawal of its forces within the coming period.”
He added that “the American forces have a private airport for their forces inside the base building, but the real reasons behind establishing an airport for aircraft are of great importance to the American Air Force,” indicating that “the American forces have concluded contracts with Iraqi contractors to provide them with the materials used in establishing airports.”
He explained that “the American forces expanded the area of their presence inside the Al-Assad base building and established many buildings and watchtowers in addition to deploying thermal surveillance cameras and advanced air defense systems,” noting that “the American forces’ implementation of these measures indicates that their forces will remain for a long time inside the base building and for an indefinite period.”
