Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hadi Al-Salami, confirmed today, Sunday, that the government has not taken sufficient measures to address all corruption files, noting that some ministries and official departments are still suffering from clear waste of public funds.
Al-Salami said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency, that “the major corruption files are still open without resolution despite government promises to prosecute those involved and recover the looted funds,” indicating that “there are ministries and agencies witnessing unjustified spending and serious financial violations that require urgent action from the oversight authorities.”
He added that “the absence of serious follow-up and weak implementation of laws contributed to the continued financial waste and the decline in the level of public services,” calling for “strengthening the role of the Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau and activating the judiciary to hold accountable those involved in corruption cases, regardless of their positions.”
