Al-Sadr warns Biden against creeping towards the Middle East and calls on the Iraqis to prepare an aid convoy to GazaShafaq News/ On Friday, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, warned the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, against continuing his “creep” towards the Middle East with the aim of supporting Israel, calling at the same time on the Iraqis to collect aid in order to send it to the besieged Gaza Strip via Syria or Egypt. .

This came in a Friday prayer sermon read on behalf of Al-Sadr by cleric Muhannad Al-Moussawi, amid crowds of demonstrators from the Sadrist movement who support the Palestinian cause, in Tahrir Square in the center of the capital, Baghdad.

Addressing President Biden, Al-Sadr said, “Your march towards the Middle East will cause you a reaction that you do not expect, not from the submissive, but from the mujahideen in Palestine, and those who support them, and all the Arab and Islamic peoples are ready to sacrifice what is dear and precious, and they are waiting for one sign from those with special needs.” Faith, righteousness, knowledge, and jihad, not from the corrupt and the appeasers.”

Al-Sadr also called on the peaceful demonstrators in Iraq to prepare and equip the “flood convoy” of water and food, saying: Perhaps we will be able to deliver it to our people in Gaza after coordinating with Syria or Egypt, and if we are not able, then that is a disgrace to Islamic and Arab history.

Since the early morning hours of Friday, dozens of demonstrators – most of them supporters of the Sadrist movement – flocked to Tahrir Square in the center of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

This arrival came at the invitation of the leader of the Sadr movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, last Monday, in which he urged his supporters to go out in a million-man demonstration in support of the Palestinian people, after a unified prayer today, Friday.

Since yesterday, Thursday, the capital, Baghdad, has been preparing to receive crowds of demonstrators, amid strict security measures taken by the competent authorities, especially in Tahrir Square and its surroundings, including cutting off roads leading to the square from all directions.
