Member of Parliament Saud Al-Saadi considered, on Tuesday, that Iraq’s continued export of oil at reduced prices to Jordan is an American tax imposed on the country, while stressing that it is necessary to form a council of wise men to redraw Iraq’s foreign policies.

Al-Saadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “The oil that is being exported now is almost free, given the difference in international oil prices,” noting that “the council will work to take firm decisions towards Jordan and all countries that offend Iraq.”

He continued, “The continued export of oil at reduced prices to Jordan is an American tax imposed on the country,” pointing out that “the country needs this council in order to deal with all countries that are trying to tamper with Iraqi affairs.”

And Al-Saadi concluded his speech, “We must not leave Jordan bypassing the file of allowing the buried Baath Party to conduct its business without confronting it and taking firm decisions towards Jordan.”

And a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, Intisar Al-Jazaery, had revealed in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “a parliamentary move to cancel the agreement to sell oil at lower prices than international prices in the coming period.”

Jordan’s recent decision to grant a work permit to the Ba’ath Party sparked a wave of harsh criticism among the popular and political circles throughout Iraq, amid continued demonstrations denouncing the Jordanian decision and calling on the government to take decisions regarding the authorities responsible for it.
