Today, Saturday, the Rafidain Bank directed the fulfillment of government contract insurances and amounts of letters of guarantee and credits in Iraqi dinars.
And the bank’s media stated in a statement received by / information /, that “according to government directives and instructions of the Central Bank of Iraq, the bank directed its branches to fulfill all insurances related to government contracts concluded in US dollars, including insurances or sums of letters of guarantee, internal documentary credits, or bank guarantees to be in Iraqi dinars.”
He added, “The fulfillment is at the official exchange rate approved by the Central Bank of Iraq, which is 1,320 dinars per dollar.”
The statement indicated, “This measure comes within the framework of achieving development and strengthening the value of the Iraqi dinar by expanding the scope of its commercial uses and adopting the national currency at all levels.”
