State of Law Coalition member Saad Al-Mutalibi confirmed today, Sunday, that the United States is the one that made electricity an unsolvable problem in Iraq.
Al-Mutalibi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “The only one affected by the electricity crisis is the Iraqi people, who continue to suffer from this crisis year after year,” indicating that “the Americans are using this file as a means to control the people, including the Iraqi people.”
He added, “The United States has worked to prevent Iraq from having electricity throughout the previous years in order to create a gap at the popular level between Iran and Iraq, so that every home suffering from power outages would receive a negative message about Iran, as it is responsible for supplying gas to the country.”
He explained that “the United States of America holds the entire electricity file and has its tools in this matter, and unfortunately the government is subject to this will,” wondering about “the reason for the silence of successive governments on the electricity file all these years and their failure to put in place radical solutions to this problem.”
It is noteworthy that Iraq suffers from an electricity crisis despite the state spending billions of dollars annually on energy improvement projects.
