Political analyst Haider al-Moussawi set one condition for a ministerial reshuffle on Monday.
Al-Moussawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency that “conducting a ministerial amendment is possible if there is an understanding between the leaderships within the Coordination Framework and the State Administration Coalition.”
He added, “It is possible to make the amendment if there is a desire from the important and essential leaders who nominated the figures to assume government positions and if Al-Sudani informs them of the ministers’ shortcomings in order to reach a form of understanding in order to replace them.”
He explained that “there is a difference between an amendment that comes at the request of the Prime Minister and an understanding with the bloc owners to replace them with others by presenting specific new names.”
He pointed out that “without an understanding between the political blocs, the Prime Minister is not able to replace a number of ministers alone because it requires a vote from the House of Representatives, and Al-Sudani does not have a large parliamentary bloc within Parliament,” indicating that “the Ministries of Transport, Oil, and Culture, in addition to Defense, are the most vulnerable to ministerial change.”
