MP Mukhtar al-Moussawi predicted on Saturday that the draft 2027 budget law would reach the Parliamentary Finance Committee by the end of this month, noting that significant amendments to its articles are undeniable.
Al-Moussawi explained to Al-Maalouma that “the draft 2027 budget law is expected to reach the Parliamentary Finance Committee by the end of this month for scrutiny, review, and extensive discussions regarding its articles, especially since many segments of society are awaiting the approval of their rights within the budget.”
He pointed out that “the 2027 budget is of great importance, particularly since Iraq postponed the preparation of budgets in previous years, and therefore there are many accumulated issues that must be resolved within next year’s budget,” noting that changing a number of its articles and points is a matter on which there is no disagreement.
Al-Moussawi emphasized that the upcoming budget will be important, but it will face many challenges, especially regarding the determination of the price of a barrel of oil, in addition to the financial entitlements that are awaiting resolution.
