MP Riyadh Al-Masoudi revealed on Sunday that more than 14,000 corruption cases at the Integrity Commission are being implemented on the ground and are being dealt with according to political considerations.
Al-Masoudi told Al-Maalouma News Agency that “more than 14,000 corruption cases are ready for implementation at the Integrity Commission, but the general amnesty law in 2016 and 2025 froze many of the cases, either through political settlement or by including them in the general amnesty, and the law was not applied to the corrupt due to the political influences that prevailed over all previous governments.”
He added that “the amnesty law is a political demand, not a popular one, to include corrupt individuals, and in itself it relieves politicians from the pressures of these files and their legal effects on senior government officials.”
He explained that “previous governments dissolved the departments of the Inspector General and cancelled thousands of investigative transactions, even though all of these transactions were documented and with conclusive evidence, but the mechanism for dissolving them came through political consensus for reasons that are clearly defined.”
He confirmed that “99% of corruption cases are complete and ready with the Integrity Commission and the judiciary, and they will be dealt with according to the law.”
