Economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi revealed on Sunday details of the Central Bank of Iraq’s foreign reserves up to the end of 2025, totaling $97.432 billion.
Al-Marsoumi explained in a post followed by the Information Agency that “gold stored at the London Gold House constitutes approximately $24.221 billion of these reserves, while US Treasury bonds amount to about $42 billion.”
He added that “the remaining $31.211 billion of reserves includes $1.466 billion held in the vaults of the Central Bank of Iraq, while the remainder has been deposited in the Bank of France, the Bank of England, the US Federal Reserve, the People’s Bank of China, and other central banks and international financial institutions.”
Al-Marsoumi pointed out that “this distribution reflects the Central Bank’s policy of diversifying foreign reserves and ensuring their ability to face various economic challenges.”
