Coalition member Wael al-Rikabi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “Al-Sudani discussed with Arab and international countries ways to hand over the wanted persons and return the stolen money to Iraq,” noting that “all the money that was embezzled in the last period is the money of the Iraqis, and the government has no right to waive it.” In favor of the countries to which the money is smuggled.

The Iraqi judiciary had earlier issued arrest warrants for four former officials, including the former Finance Minister and close associates of former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, accusing them of “facilitating” the seizure of $2.5 billion in tax secretariats, or what is known as the theft of the century.
