The State of Law coalition, led by Nouri al-Maliki, on Monday called on the Iraqi Council of Representatives to expel foreign forces from Iraq and “get rid of them as quickly as possible.”
The leader of the coalition, Saad Al-Muttalabi, told Al-Maalouma, “The American attack on the Popular Mobilization Forces positions in Anbar Governorate is a blatant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, which requires the House of Representatives to move towards expelling foreign forces from Iraq.”
The American aggression aircraft launched a series of strikes on sites belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces and the rest of the security forces in Anbar Governorate, leaving a number of martyrs and wounded dead.
In turn, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed that these strikes constitute a violation of Iraqi sovereignty, an undermining of the efforts of the Iraqi government, and a threat that will drag Iraq and the region into undesirable consequences, the consequences of which will be dire for security and stability in Iraq and the region.
