The leader of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed his continued efforts to reconcile with the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, indicating that some political parties benefited from the movement’s absence from Parliament.
Al-Maliki said in an interview followed by Al-Maalouma, that “some political parties in the coordination framework have benefited and their parliamentary representation has increased after Al-Sadr’s withdrawal from Parliament.”
He added, “Iraq’s interest requires the return of the Sadrist movement and its responsibility as part of the Iraqi people.”
He explained, “I expect a state of tension between the Sadrist movement and the State of Law coalition, since the political and political work in it does not set any red plans, and it is a hope for the Iraqi people to develop the political and service path for the public good.”
