MP Ali al-Lami revealed on Thursday plans to increase the production capacity of Iraqi refineries by 35% over the next three years.
Al-Lami told Al-Maalouma, “Iraq has a number of refineries that produce gasoline, gas, and kerosene, in addition to modern refineries operating at various production capacities.” He explained that “the plan in place aims to increase production in the coming period.”
He added, “This increase will allow the export of petroleum derivatives, which will contribute to boosting the state’s revenues, especially with the presence of foreign markets that absorb the quantities produced in light of the rise in global demand.”
