Political analyst Hussein Al-Kinani saw that some influential personalities are working to give the corrupt a cover with the aim of not being held accountable and continuing to steal public money, pointing out that Al-Kazemi’s government is not far from condemnation and that the government can expose all those involved in stealing money.
Al-Kinani told Al-Maalouma, that “there is a statistic stating that 300 billion dollars have been smuggled out of Iraq, and therefore the currency bleeding is still going on, which confirms the country’s transformation into a money-laundering refinery, where many paid goods enter to be converted into dollars and taken out of Iraq again.”
He added, “There are a lot of those involved and international gangs that are trying as much as possible to benefit from the looted money, which makes it imperative for the government to open these files to stop financial corruption.”
And he indicated that “many officials, gangsters, and influential people work to steal public money and carry out laundering operations, and the Al-Kazemi government does not need condemnation because it has corrupted governments, as condemning it does not require more effort, and if the current government moves quickly, it can expose all those involved.”
He pointed out that “some influential personalities give the corrupt a cover that guarantees them not to be held accountable and follow-up or to recover the looted funds through their allies abroad and their supporters at home.”
