Political analyst Hussein Al-Kinani confirmed that the conviction of Al-Kadhimi’s government for corruption and involvement in this matter does not need more evidence, pointing out that there are positive steps taken by the current government to uncover all those involved, arrest them and hold them accountable.
Al-Kinani told Al-Maalouma, “The Al-Kazemi government is considered one of the most corrupt governments that came to power in Iraq, and condemning it does not need more evidence, and if the security and other concerned agencies had the true will, all those involved in corruption and money smuggling would have been exposed.”
He added, “Some corrupt personalities give the corrupt a cover in order to disrupt the issue of following them up and recovering the looted funds through their allies abroad or through great influence, especially since there is a direct relationship between money and power.”
He pointed out that “the Sudanese government is proceeding with its measures, as it has all means of success and support to combat corruption and recover money, and it is expected to succeed in that, especially since there are positive steps it has taken to reduce corruption and arrest those involved.”
