Security expert Haitham Al-Khazali confirmed today, Saturday, that the strategic framework agreement stipulates that there is no immunity for American forces inside Iraq, calling on the Iraqi government to expel them from the country.
Al-Khazali told Al-Maalouma, “The United States grants immunity to its forces in every country in which it is present, under penalty of law, which makes it commit many crimes without accountability, and what happened in Korea and Japan is evidence of that.”
He continued, “There is no official agreement between the Iraqi government and the Americans regarding the existence of immunity for its forces.”
He added, “Most of the political blocs support the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq, in addition to the presence of a popular desire to achieve this for the purpose of stabilizing the security and political situation.”
The representative of the Sadiqoun parliamentary bloc, Ali Turki, had revealed that the framework forces and the Sunni and Kurdish forces had reached an agreement and a unified political position to legislate the law to remove foreign forces, including American forces.
