On Saturday, Khamis al-Khanjar, head of the “Sovereignty” coalition, called on the winning alliances and parties to a meeting to discuss upcoming entitlements.

Al-Khanjar said in a tweet on the “X” platform, which was followed by Shafaq News Agency: “Based on the importance of unity and the pursuit of a unified position that fulfills the aspirations, demands and interests of our people in all our governorates, I call on the brothers, the heads of the alliances and parties that won in the elections, to a meeting tomorrow, Sunday, to discuss the requirements of the next stage.”

It is worth noting that Al-Khanjar said last Tuesday that the Sunni community demands a “just” state in Iraq, calling for an improvement in the country’s economic situation.

Earlier today, the Shura Council of the Islamic Dawa Party decided to nominate the party’s Secretary-General, Nouri al-Maliki, for the position of Prime Minister in the next Iraqi government.

The Coordination Framework announced last Monday the formation of two committees. The first committee is concerned with forming the government and includes Ammar al-Hakim, Humam Hamoudi and Abdul-Sada al-Fariji, while the second committee is concerned with negotiating with the political parties and includes Nouri al-Maliki, Hadi al-Amiri, Faleh al-Fayyad and Mohsen al-Mandalawi.

According to sources who spoke to Shafaq News Agency, the committee for interviewing candidates for the next Iraqi government, which is part of the coordination framework, has received 5 CVs from candidates for the position.

The names are State of Law leader Nouri al-Maliki, caretaker Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, intelligence chief Hamid al-Shatri, former Minister of Youth and Sports Abdul Hussein Abtan, and head of the Accountability and Justice Commission Bassem al-Badri.
