Former House of Representatives Rapporteur, Mohamed Osman Al-Khalidi, revealed on Thursday that “there will be no ministerial change in Al-Sudani’s government.”
Al-Khalidi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “It is too late to make any ministerial change in Al-Sudani’s government, especially since the current conditions at home and abroad, and the developments in the Middle East, do not give flexibility to proceed with the options of making an important ministerial change.”
He added, “All previous indicators were leading to a change of four to five ministers in the government, but it seems that it is no longer possible to proceed with these options, especially since there is no political consensus to proceed with this step.”
He pointed out that “with the approach of the election date, which may be in November or December, the remaining period is very short to make any ministerial change.”
Al-Khalidi stressed that “the government will continue with its current ministers without any changes,” noting that “the next stage will witness the political forces focusing on moving forward with an elections law that may carry changes, in addition to completing important laws through the next legislative session of the House of Representatives.”
It is noteworthy that a ministerial change in Al-Sudani’s government had been proposed two years ago, but several reasons prevented it from going ahead, especially with the existence of political differences and the lack of a clear vision about the identity of the ministers who would be changed.”
