Al-Kazemis visit to America schedule.. many files and more demandsPrime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is preparing to go on an official visit to the United States of America, in his first visit since President Joe Biden took office. And circles close to the government talked about the visit, which has not yet matured, because of the talks between the two sides on a specific date, as they want the visit to be not marginal, but rather large because of the files it holds that need a position from both sides. The circles said, “The files that Al-Kazemi will carry are many, including the file of the American military presence, the establishment of power stations, the training of Iraqi forces, education and health.” And the circles confirm, “The political forces, especially the Shiite ones, submitted requests to Al-Kazemi to carry them on the visit, including ending the military presence and allowing non-US companies to work in energy projects in Iraq.” And she indicated, “Al-Kazemi promised to transfer the demands of the political forces to the American administration, during discussions that brought him together with the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri.” Last Monday, the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, discussed with the US Ambassador to Baghdad the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Washington. Al-Araji’s office said in a statement that the latter “received in his office today, Monday, the American ambassador in Baghdad, Matthew Tueller, to discuss the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region, bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington, and joint cooperation in areas that serve the two countries.” The two sides also discussed, according to the statement, “the expected visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to the United States of America, the files that he will discuss with the American side, and ways to make this visit a success, in the mutual interest between the two countries.”
