Today, Saturday, the MP of the Parliamentary Initiative Bloc, Adnan Al-Jahishi, renewed his demand to give the MP the freedom to choose a new Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Al-Jahishi told Al-Maalouma Agency, “The intervention of the heads of the political blocs greatly affected the election of a new Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
He added that “the House of Representatives is concerned with deciding the election of the Speaker of Parliament by giving the representative the freedom of choice,” noting that “there is difficulty in reaching any agreements or solutions regarding the position of the Speaker of Parliament.”
Stressing that “the intervention of political forces faces objections within Parliament,” he continued, “giving First Deputy Mohsen Al-Mandalawi the freedom to choose is the closest to resolving this issue.”
