A member of the State of Law coalition, Aed Al-Hilali, confirmed today, Sunday, that there is a state of ambiguity in the file of electing a new speaker of the House of Representatives, anticipating surprises in the session.
Al-Hilali told Al-Maalouma, “Until this moment, there are no indications of a political agreement on a specific person for the position of Speaker of Parliament, especially after the session expected to be held next Tuesday is approaching.”
He added, “The session to elect the Speaker of the House of Representatives will not be easy, and he expects surprises to occur, including the lack of a quorum or the failure of any competitor to obtain a sufficient number of votes.”
The head of the Ajyal Parliamentary Bloc, MP Muhammad Al-Sayhoud, confirmed that the session to elect a new Speaker of the House of Representatives will be held next Tuesday.
