MP Arif al-Hamami predicted on Saturday that the identity of the candidate for the next prime minister would be decided within three weeks, stressing that the Coordination Framework forces are the body responsible for nominating the prime minister as they constitute the largest bloc.
Al-Hamami told Al-Maalouma, “The Coordination Framework forces, as the largest bloc, which includes a number of winning lists in the November elections, are responsible for determining the identity of the next prime minister.”
He added, “I expect the issue of determining the candidate for prime minister to be resolved within the next three weeks,” explaining that “several names have been put forward within the political frameworks, but ultimately the Framework forces will agree on a name that enjoys their support, which will then be presented to the other forces.”
Al-Hamami pointed out that “there are no complications in forming the current government, with political support to proceed with the constitutional obligations and the specified timeframes for forming the next government,” emphasizing that “hopes are pinned on forming a government based on competence and experience in selecting cabinet candidates.”
