An informed political source revealed, on Tuesday, the intention of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to visit Najaf Governorate to meet with the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr in the coming hours, indicating that al-Halbousi may inform al-Sadr of his intention to withdraw from the tripartite alliance in protest of the dispute with the first deputy speaker of Parliament, Hakim al-Zamili. .
The source said, “The coming hours may witness a lightning visit by Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, due to the dispute between the Sadrist movement and the Alliance of Sovereignty.”
He added, “Al-Halbousi will inform al-Sadr of the intention of the Sovereignty Alliance to withdraw from the tripartite alliance and find an alternative in the event that the dispute continues over the powers of the parliament’s presidency or to restore things to their rightful place, and al-Zamili is not unique in the powers of the parliament’s presidency.”
