Representative Aqil Al-Fatlawi revealed, on Wednesday, parliamentary moves to collect signatures aimed at dismissing the President of the Republic, indicating that this step comes in response to his filing a complaint against the Prime Minister.
Al-Fatlawi said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency, that “a number of representatives have begun in recent days to collect parliamentary signatures with the aim of dismissing the President of the Republic, against the backdrop of his filing a complaint against the Prime Minister.”
He added that “the President of the Republic, despite his defense of the entitlements of an important segment of Iraqi citizens, his method of presentation carried political dimensions that were considered closer to sectarian entrenchment rather than general representation of Iraq with all its spectra.”
He explained that “the broad reactions from various political parties to what the President of the Republic did aim to maintain balance in the Iraqi political scene.”
It is noteworthy that the President of the Republic had previously filed a complaint against Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, against the backdrop of the failure to pay the salaries of the region’s employees.
