Al-Hayat newspaper reported that Al-Fath coalition, which is part of the construction bloc, ruled out the completion of the new government of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi soon.
The newspaper quoted the MP of the Fatah alliance, Haneen al-Qaddu, as saying in a press statement on Saturday, October 27, 2018, that his coalition excludes the completion of the ministerial lineup during the constitutional period specified, because of disagreement over some of the names nominated to fill the sovereign portfolios, especially the portfolios of defense and interior.
Al-Qaddo added that Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who is committed to Fayhaal Fayadh as a candidate for the Ministry of the Interior, noting that “the Fatah coalition did not withdraw the nomination of Fayadh for the post of Ministry of the Interior so far.”
It is likely that the prime minister to put forward Faleh al-Fayadh, a candidate for the Ministry of the Interior with the support of the construction coalition and some political parties during the next parliament session, while changing some of the names of candidates.
