The leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed, on Saturday, that Washington will obstruct the Baghdad agreement for three reasons.
Abdul-Hadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The agreement to swap Iraqi black oil in exchange for Iranian gas to operate electricity production plants entered into force hours after the signing, and there is a noticeable increase in production, and it will reach its pre-crisis level within days.”
He added, “Washington will press for obstructing the agreement in all its forms because it wants to keep managing the electricity file through its embassies in Baghdad to exploit it as a pressure card and blackmail against the government whenever it wants,” pointing out that “everything that happens is aimed at pressuring Iraq for normalization with the Zionist entity.” .
He pointed out that “America wants to maintain its hegemony over the electricity file and the dollar in Baghdad because they are important to the country’s economy and through which blackmail can be practiced, as happened with other governments.”
Iraq had concluded an agreement with Iran on bartering black oil in exchange for gas to operate its power stations.
