The representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, confirmed, on Sunday, that the American side evaded its agreement with Baghdad on the dollar and energy regarding the import of gas, pointing out that Washington seeks to dominate the Iraqi decision.
Al-Baldawi told Al-Maalouma, that “the last period witnessed a visit by an American delegation that included a number of personalities in the Treasury, Foreign Ministry and the embassy, during which negotiations were held with the Central Bank represented by the Governor of Al-Alaq and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein in order to arrange matters regarding the dollar and the agreement to obtain Iranian gas.” “.
He added, “The US administration is evading its agreements with Iraq, which prompted the government to find alternative ways to secure energy, and as a result the oil-for-gas agreement was signed.”
And he indicated that “America retracted in its agreement with Iraq, and went towards tightening Baghdad on the issue of banks and trying to control the dollar and dominate the Iraqi decision, and therefore it evades any agreement that serves Iraq.”
