Today, Saturday, the Al-Fatah Alliance affirmed the ability of the current government to confront American pressures towards the people and the government regarding the recent dollar crisis, accusing America of trying to starve the people to increase discontent with the political class.
A member of the coalition, Ali al-Fatlawi, said in a statement to Al-Maalouma that “the first cause of the dollar crisis is the American side, which is trying to put pressure on the new government by all means,” noting that “negotiations are underway in order to prevent the dollar crisis from worsening for the Iraqi people.”
He continued, “The government and the central bank are trying to get rid of the restrictions imposed by the Federal Bank, which caused the depreciation of the Iraqi dinar,” pointing out that “the crisis is fabricated in order to starve and blackmail the people.”
Regarding following the policy with America in order to prevent the rise of the dollar, Al-Fatlawi explains, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani and the governor of the Central Bank are taking the most important path, which is negotiations.”
The political analyst, Sabah Al-Aqili, had previously spoken to Al-Malouma News Agency that “the events of the dollar crisis are part of the messages that America sends to the Sudanese government,” noting that “the recent measures are like a stick being waved by America by moving the street against the government.”
