The leader of the Al-Fatah Alliance, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Sunday that America has reduced the flow of oil money towards Iraq by 50%.
Abdul-Hadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma that “there was a grave mistake committed after 2003 by allowing Iraqi oil money to flow towards America instead of Baghdad because of Washington’s agenda in controlling the country’s money and controlling its economy directly.”
He added, “America is behind the recent dollar crisis by pressing to reduce the flow of oil money towards Iraq by more than 50%.”
He pointed out that “Washington has a big and dangerous agenda by manipulating the exchange rate of the dollar in the Iraqi markets and pushing prices up in order to exert clear pressure and blackmail on the Sudanese government,” pointing to “the need to open up public opinion about the truth of what America is doing behind the scenes.”
The dollar exchange markets in Iraq are witnessing a steady rise in the past weeks, amid a state of anticipation for any decisions that contribute to calming the markets.
